Well, the fact is, I’m WAY past the age where I need to be making a mix cd for any reason except, because, well, I have the ability to make playlists. Duh.

Yet, I’m still of the generation where if you gave someone a mix cd, it meant something. Ok, I’ll confess: In high school, it was still a cassette tape, but it’s still the same concept. Bite me. I’m older than you, deal with it.

There’s someone who crossed my mind today, while listening to a song on Pandora, and I’d like to make them a mix cd. The problem is, I have quite a bit of the music I want, but not enough to fill a full 2 hours. That’s the target goal. Why two hours?

Well, this is kind of a “make out” cd. It needs to have a tone, a mood. I’m avoiding the usual romance songs: I’m not looking to have anyone singing along when they need to be focusing on other things. Ahem.

So far, I’m starting with Sofa Rockers-Richard Dorfmeister Remix, throwing in some Hybrid, some Massive Attack, some Dirty Vegas…after that? I’m wandering without a clue.

What I need from my friends, particularly my DJ friends, is suggestions. Lots, and lots, and lots, of suggestions. Songs with lyrics are optional, let’s go with the mood. What do you think?
